Three properties, endless experiences and unique memories to make at each one.
There is not many countries in the world that give you the feeling of a need to go back and see more of. Maldives falls into one of those places that you can keep going back to as many times as you can as each island is not only a different property but will look nothing like the one you've stayed at before. Everything from villas to experiences to reef life will be unique. Whenever I am asked which property is my favorite there is no perfect answer as in my opinion each one is amazing in their own way, however I think Four Seasons may be on top of my list now as I loved the fact that they have three properties just in Maldives, making it easy for you can visit, seamlessly arranged by them.
Best way to give you an idea on how much you can experience during the trip is by sharing our itinerary. It'll help you decide whether that would be enough time to visit all properties or you may need more time at one or the other.
DAY 1 - landed in Male early afternoon, took a boat to Kuda Huraa. Boat ride was under an hour.
By getting there early in the day you get to maximize the time on the island so make sure to always keep that in mind when booking flights. Getting there late in the day can also affect your schedule as if you're going to Landaa Giraavaru property instead of Kuda Huraa you will not be able to take a seaplane as they don't fly once sun is down.
This time around we stayed in a beach villa so unfortunately I cannot say much about water villas we always stay in as we only got to visit those to see what they look like. During our stay resort was at almost full capacity.
In the evening we walked over to the lobby area where crab races take place, it's a fun activity property offers where many guests come together, pick a crab and watch them race!
We then grabbed a dinner at one of the restaurants.
DAY 2 - explored the island, got a tan and visited different villas property offers.
This day was all about exploring the island which is pretty small compared to other islands we've visited so you could get around by foot. After shooting content around the island we got to see a few villas they offer. If you want to get a feel of what they offer and look like visit their website or take a look my IG reels to get a feel! As you may know February is a pretty warm month in the Maldives so sun got the best of us and jet lag kicked in which led to us to falling asleep around 4/5PM and waking up the next day. We had dinner plans for that night which we did not make it to.
DAY 3 - spa.
Now that we were all rested we hung out by the pool and went to check out the spa where I did sound bath and cold plunge while hubby got a massage in an overwater spa villa. This spa is one of the most unique experiences EVER, it's located next to resort island which requires you take a quick 2 minute boat ride. After treatments we hung out around the island to relax and got back to the main island afterwards to shoot some more content.
In the evening before dinner we walked over to lobby area where staff feeds sharks! The entire area gets filled by sharks that are there on the dot waiting to be fed. It's an absolute must to experience!
DAY 4 - transfer day.
We woke up early, packed our bags and took a quick boat over to the dock in the middle of ocean where the seaplane was already waiting or us. The flight was just under an hour with literally the most stunning views out your window! I haven't taken a seaplane in probably around 10 years in Maldives as every property we visited has been just a boat ride away from Male. We then checked into Landaa Giraavaru and got a tour of a property. This was one of the biggest islands we've visited, it had buggies and bicycles making it easier and convenient for guests to get around the island and maximize their time. Our room once again was on the land so we didn't get to experience the over water rooms and our pool/villa experience was the same as at the prior property where we ended up not getting into pool/beach. Since we got here early in the afternoon we grabbed lunch and went to check out a few rooms this property offered.
We grabbed dinner at one of the restaurants.
DAY 5 - activities & private island tour.
This was a full day filled with all kinds of fun. We took a boat to the sand bar, rode jet skis to a different sand bar that was even further than the one we visited with a boat and hubby also went foiling which he said was super fun. In the late afternoon we also got to visit the private island which is about a 10 min boat ride from Landaa Giraavaru called Voavah. It has everything and anything the main island offers but it's exclusive to only those who have rented the entire island for themselves. Everything from activities, chefs to massages etc. is there; you don't even have to visit the main island unless you want to. The island also offers a few villas on the beach and one over water. This is a perfect place if you are planning a big group getaway, wedding etc and want to have it all for yourself.
DAY 6 - check out in the afternoon.
Our original plan was to stay 3 nights in Kuda Huraa and 3 nights in Landaa Giraavaru but unfortunately flight times didn't work out and we only got to spend 2 nights at Landaa which hands down was one of our favorite islands visited. I have a feeling we might have to go back there in the future as it had so much to offer, see and experience.
HIGHLIGHTS OF KUDA HURAA
- Unique spa experience
- Crab races
- Shark feeding
- Close to the airport
- Small island
- A tiny sand bar
HIGHLIGHTS OF LANDAA GIRAAVARU
- Transfer requires seaplane
- Large island
- Farm ( vegetables & chickens etc )
- Endless activities
- Sand bars
- 2 large public pools
TO SUM IT UP!
Both properties offer lots of unique experiences like dining on the sand bar, movie night under the stars, sunset cruises etc. I would suggest staying in Kuda Huraa for 2 nights as it's a small island which makes it a great place to ease into your vacation slowly before you go to the bigger island - Landaa Giraavaru which you need a minimum of 3 nights at as it's a large island with a lot to offer.
Landaa Giraavaru is absolutely on top of my list at the moment as one of the most beautiful properties in Maldives. It has one of the most beautiful beaches I've seen. Since we only got to spend 2 nights there we might have to go back sometime in the future as we didn't get to experience the overwater rooms and many other things the island offers such as reef life etc.
We've been fortunate enough to stay in over water villas every time we've gone to Maldives prior to this time, some as small as one bedroom and as big as 3 bedrooms. However this time around both properties of Four Seasons were at almost full capacity, so we did stay on the land villa which was a very different experience as Maldives is all about staying and experiencing over water rooms, that's what makes Maldives and Bora Bora different from other resorts around the globe. The one thing we found interesting is that when we stayed at overwater rooms we spent a very big amount of time in private pool or the ocean as it usually has a ladder you take down but this time around when we stayed on the land we never even got inside the pool nor hung out by the beach that's steps away from the villa. Neither at Landaa Giraavaru or Kuda Huraa. We found ourselves either wandering around the properties or just hanging out at a public pool. I personally think beach villas are great for families as it's more fun for the kiddos to just run over to the beach or pool and for parents not to have to worry about an over water villa safety.

Engaging and well-written, this post beautifully captures the essence of savoring aperitif hour with a local touch.
